Smoking is one of the worst voluntary abuses that you can do to your body.  Smoking affects your pulmonary lung system along with some other vital organs. 

 

Hence quitting smoking can be one of the best things that you can do to your body.  However, stopping smoking can be more difficult than it seems due to the fact that the nicotine present in cigarettes can cause a serious physical and emotional addiction.  Hence you will need to work to stop smoking accordingly.  

 

Here are some tips that can help you stop smoking:

 

        Prepare yourself psychologically for stopping smoking. Before you start the quitting process, you must make sure that you have your mind and soul set on that goal

 

        One of the most important things in quitting smoking is emotional support from your peers, friends or family.    As the support from your family grows, you will be able to fight against smoking more easily

 

         You should remove all smoking triggers from your life as much as possible.  Sometimes you may smoke by seeing these triggers and by removing them you will be able to reduce your craving for smoking

 

        Change the tar brand of your cigarette.   However, recent statistics show that although switching to a low tar brand will reduce craving, it won’t help to reduce the physical damage to your lungs

 

         Although some experts will suggest that you stop smoking “cold turkey”, this is not a recommended method as the body might show adverse reactions

 

       You should try to schedule some activities for yourself.  These activities can include things like hiking, swimming, camping, walking and sports

 

         Try to drink as much water as possible as this will help to detoxify your body and thus the toxins that were accumulated in your body will be removed in time
